British Petroleum (BP): Claims Filing

The BIGW law firm is dedicated to making its clients aware of an option each one may have to recover loss of income from their business or property as a result of the Deepwater Horizon incident that occurred on April 20, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico (commonly referred to as the BP Oil Spill).  BP set aside a fund with $20 Billion to compensate Florida and other Gulf Coast inhabitants for their losses, and as of this date in the fourth quarter of 2011, BP reportedly has approximately $15.5 Billion in relief still available.

As the media reports, it can be a “confusing” and “daunting process” to file and pursue a claim against BP.  Engaging the BIGW law firm to navigate through the paperwork, establish causation, analyze the financial information and apply BP’s mathematical formulas to prove damages eases that burden.  BIGW has filed a large volume of claims relating to the Oil Spill, and as a result has been appointed its own BP attorney contact, and has had numerous discussions with BP’s accountants and adjusters providing BIGW with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to claim analysis, preparation and presentation.

BIGW is respectful of its clients’ time and does its best to limit the amount of effort its clients must exert to have a potentially successful claim filed on their behalf.  BIGW generally requires its clients to spend approximately 10 to 20 minutes communicating certain facts to its attorneys and providing its attorneys with the documentation it needs to prepare a viable claim.  BIGW then handles the preparation of all documents, the crafting of legal arguments and analysis of the relevant financial documents.  Once BIGW files the claim, and when the claim is successful, a client can generally expect payment to be sent in approximately 120 days.

BIGW is not charging any fees to its clients up front, but rather is handling the claims on a contingency fee basis.  This means that BIGW’s clients will not be responsible for the payment of any attorney fees or costs if no claim is payable thereby eliminating out of pocket risk to its clients.  If a claim is approved, BIGW will retain a percentage of the approved amount as its fees and cost reimbursement, and remit the remainder to its client.  While there is no guaranty that a claim will be payable, based on BIGW’s research, analysis and experience, it finds a loss and claim payable in a high percentage of the claims it reviews, and the claim settlements are far in excess of what most of BIGW’s clients expect prior to hiring BIGW.  In fact, several of BIGW’s clients do not even believe they have a loss when that loss has on occasion been into to six figures territory under BIGW’s analysis.

If you have any interest in pursuing a claim against BP, please call or e-mail BIGW at BPclaims@bigwlaw.com, and BIGW will be happy to discuss the potential of your possible claim, explain the process, and file a claim on your behalf.  Again, BIGW charges you no fees or costs unless it wins your claim.
